Right, let’s get straight to it.
there are a few things I want to chat about as we get closer to our holiday release/small biz Saturday event. We are doing things a liiiittle bit different this year.. we are going to continue rolling out releases until that day. Normally we hold back all of our seasonal releases until small business Saturday, but this year I planned my production in a way that allows us to have a lot of stock on a lot of bars so we don’t sell out in an hour, a day or two.
as I do every year, my entire month of October was focused solely on soap. I do not make any other product no matter what we may sell out of. So there’s a lot of restocking to do for me for the next few weeks..which you may have noticed if you’ve been in the shop lately ;) but rest assured I will be making all of the body oils, sprays, butter creams.. scrubs.. etc. and instead of holding all of that back until November 30th, we are just going to roll them out as I get them made. So you can expect that little change this year.
another thing I want to give you a heads up on — are all of the treats. The soaps that look like they came from a bakery. So those are going to be in very limited quantity. And some of them, there may only be a couple of. Seriously. What I did this year, if you recall last year with all of my end pieces and such.. everything got turned into soap stones. This year, they all got turned into cookies, lava cakes, truffles and cake pops.
there are a few batches that were specifically made for things, and those there will be a lot of, but the truffles and cake pops especially are a pretty random mix of things. I tried my best to decorate the tops of them along the lines of which soaps they were made from to kinda help you out when you are selecting yours, and I did not make them out of the lavender bars, or bars that didn’t fall in line with foodie like scents.
so here is the most important part of all of this… each treat will not have its own specific ingredient label. Some may, such as the ones there are intentionally an entire batch of.. but the others will have a legally standard soap label. The weight, the word soap, and a generic list of ingredients like our soap stones and kitchen sink soaps have. So, if you have specific allergy, or plan to purchase as a gift .. just know that a lot of these treats will have multiple bar ingredients in them. that said, as always you can purchase any of them knowing there will be no tree nut oils, no gluten, no butters/oils containing latex n(such as shea). however some treats may have honey or different milks in them so i cannot promise you vegan.
the treats will be sold according to their size and we will have a clearly displayed list of what those are nearby to refer to.
I aaaalso have a secret release we haven’t told you about … they’re so hilariously cute and those will be available in a chocolate, a snickerdoodle, and fruit cake and i cannot wait to watch you guys pick your favorite!! i can tell you this, i laughed to the point of tears as they were being made...more than once.... more than twice. im talking wheezing, snorting, that kinda laugh. so im reaaaaaaaaaally curious what you all are going to tthink of hem of them too!
we will likely post about them either the night before, or the morning of sbs.
im going to be doing a follow up blog here hopefully this week coming - i really want to run down through all of the soaps ive made for the season with a quick little list of whats in them so you can kinda have an idea in mind what youre going to be looking for when you come in and brave the crowd we get that morning. i think ill likely do a blog that is literally a photo of the bar, its key features and leave it at that.
hope youre all getting as excited for the 30th as we are!
until next,
-heidi
