here we are again...
my holiday production orders have started to trickle in and my holiday ideas are flooding my head, i cant believe its time again.
i started jotting ideas down a month or so ago... getting pretty excited for this years 4th quarter.. but, august is always a little bit tricky. its not quite chilly fall nights, its not quite full bloom summer, its between those things that seem to always end up with me gravitating towards scents that only slightly hint that summer is coming to an end.
as im making stuff throughout the year there are often times ill mix up a scent blend and the bar just doesnt come together for me in my mind,, so , ill bottle up the blend and put it on my shelf for a day when it speaks to me, and yesterday, one of them spoke to me. its a nutmeg, cardamom, orange blend and the soap that came out is well... a perfect bar to lead us into fall. Topped with crushed vanilla and 24k gold. I’m excited to cut this one tomorrow.
i also decided to bring back nectar. this bar debuted last year - and wouldnt you know it.. it came out in august. i was looking for photos of it before i made it and had a little laugh when i realized it will be coming out at the same time as it did the first time. i made a larger amount than last year, and ill be cutting the bar in a standard size, a little larger than last years release.
if you missed nectar last year, it’s a honey bar with notes of bergamot, grapefruit and lemongrass with a punch of lavender at the top to round it out. Calendula petals are blended into the base, stamped with the cutest little bee stamp to go with the honeycomb bottom, topped with bits of petals and a shimmery sprinkle of sugar. I’m definitely excited to have this bar return.
I think it’s safe to say my days of rolling into the shop at 10:59 are over for this year.. but it’s almost 9pm and the sun hasn’t completely set.. so my madness isn’t quite here yet ;)
