thats exactly what a hobgoblin is! if youve never heard of one... allow me to tell you all about this wonderful little folklore gem!
hobgoblins are little gnarly goblins with good intentions - they are said to help you around the house and accomplish your chores, they love to do good deeds and particularly love working with farmers. Although they are known for these things, they can be sinister IF you upset them, at which point they become mischievous and may even abandon your property completely. If you want to keep your goblin happy, leave him snacks ... but never ever leave him new clothes. this is the surest way to get your goblin gone for good.
