the bubble gum bar

morning all!

i want to get a quick blog out about this cute little bar! the day i made this i had actually started three pots of soap to make lavender mint, and .... right when it was time to start mixing... i was just like,.. ugh, you know what? i just dont FEEL like making lavender mint today. so, i didnt. and this cute little bar turned out instead lol

yeah, thats pretty much how i operate day to day. 

anyhow, with this bar i used an ingredient i had never used in soap before, a flavor oil i had never used, and, out of the bottle it smelled pretty strong, but once it went through the gel phase a lot of that scent disappeared. at first, i was SUUUUPER bummed because it wasnt what i had expected the bar to be, but, after i took a piece home and used it ....it completely changed my thoughts on it. 

scent fading after gel phase is something cold process soap makers expect, and, we typically know what those oils will be, however, since i had never used this one i just didnt know.... and unfortunately i dont have time this time of year to make a small test batch, so i made three entire batches with it haha....anyhow, i used my standard usage amount and well... it simply wasnt enough to end up as intense of a scent as i was hoping for.

BUT....

i love it. which again, i didnt realize i was going to until i took it home and used it. its reeeeeeeeeally light. but its reeeeeeeeally sweet. its this beautiful soft sweet scent that i have come to totally adore. ive been using it daily since i brough it home. the bars lather is also really nice, like a tight fluffy foam similar to whipped cream. i love it. 

anyhow, what i love most about the way this bar turned out is that its actually SO perfect for all of those people who come in looking for things for kids, or people who are sensitive to scent. it gives an option thats a bit more than a plain unscented bar of soap, PLUS its super cute, and its incredibly gentle. nothing crazy in it, no scrubbies, minimal ingredients - no milk, no honey, etc.... and the little mini bubblegum balls on top are vegan, gluten free, and colored with natural vegetable colorant. so of course, i totally love that too!

anyhow just wanted to give you guys a little more detailed of a heads up on this bar since it is a little different than the rest regarding its scent strength. i was planning to redeem my mistake by remaking it with a stronger scent, but ive since changed my mind and decided this bar is exactly how it should be.
